What, in your opinion, is the biggest misconception people have about lawyers and why is it a misconception?I’m not sure that it is as much a misconception as it is a misunderstanding of what lawyers do. I think people often think lawyers just want to get as much money as they can out of their clients with the least amount of service. What people don’t see are the ideals behind what most lawyers do. The law represents our highest moral ideals in written form. At it’s best, it is true democracy in practice – the great equalizer. Lawyers exist so that every person can have access to the courtroom as an arena to address their grievances. Behind every lawyer is a client who is relying on that lawyer to look out for them.
